September got its name from the Latin word septem, meaning "seven," because it was the seventh month in the early Roman calendar before January and February were added.
September colors bridge the gap between summer brightness and the rich, cozy tones of early autumn.. These colors include Sapphire Blue, Warm Browns & Mocha, Deep Reds & Burgundy, Olive & Forest Greens, and Golden Yellows & Orange,
Every year I trek to New York for the US Open. Spend one week there at the Open and of course visit family and friends. This year was fabulous and my niece Bonnie still makes the best grub in town. I then spend the next week in Cleveland, Ohio with my Aunt Bambi, 95 years young, still driving, and that should tell you how's she's doing. Check out more about this trek in this month's edition.
I'm going to redesign our family RECIPE PAGE as it has needed a long time update. Actually as people get older they tend to eat out more than they cook at home, with the exception of our very own Bonnie, who still cooks more and the taste is always getting better. Therefore the new design of that page will showcase some of the nice restaurants we go to and believe you me there are plenty. The Family Recipe page will be renamed "Eating Out". Everybody has a favorite restaurant (s) they love. I will be asking you to chime in with some of your favorites. I start this month off with some of mine that I tried on this recent trip to New York and Cleveland. I'm hungry just thinking about them now!
Enjoy! Stay Blessed!

P.S. We are getting so close to November 3. The GOP is in panic mode. Don't go for the OKIE DOKE. Trump is in high gear with lies trying to steal the MID-TERM ELECTIONS. Remember Spike Lee's "DO THE RIGHT THING" and get to the polls at all cost. Take everyone you know with you! Trump says make believe his name is on the ballot. I say make believe BARACK OBAMA'S name is on the ballot!

If you said "Joie Lee", sister of Spike Lee, who played his sister " Jade", in "Do The Right Thing" in 1989 made many films directed by her brother. She has appeared in many of the films directed by her brother, Spike Lee, including She's Gotta Have It (1986), School Daze (1988), Do the Right Thing (1989), and Mo' Better Blues (1990). She also co-wrote and produced the film Crooklyn (1994).[2] A movie without her brother's involvement she appears in is A Kiss Before Dying (1991).

You might be wondering how I created this image above. GOD gave all of us a brain. Some of us try to exercise it as much as we can to keep it healthy as long as we can. I was just working on this month's site articles, thinking I'm a little short on stories when GOD stepped in and now you see the result.
Although the picture above is a little extreme, these are extreme times and if we the people don't understand what our eyes and ears are witnessing now, time has a way of moving so fast, we could wake up one day to this! He is always with us. We need to be always with him!
Wake up my people! Take care of your business in November!
When you go to the polls, give someone a ride if they need one. Constantly remind folks of this historic mid-term. God won't let us down, but we have to make an effort!

This video was taken one saturday morning after lots of rain that night before. The court is still wet and were waiting for it to dry. Warming up is just moving slowly and hitting softly to get your swing and rhythm going. Oh I forgot to say I'm 73 years here.
I started playing tennis in 1976 and never stopped playing. In New York you could only play in the spring and summer. Here in Houston I have been able to play year round outside because of the climate. I started playing tennis for a reason only my cousin Spider (James Greene) would come up with. Every spring, Spider and my cousin Louie Day and myself would get together in early spring and discuss where the ladies would be that summer season. Spider said the trend was the ladies would be on the tennis courts with those pretty short tennis skirts and we needed to be there too. We went and bought racquets and outfits.
The ladies didn't come that summer so Spider and Louie quit. I continued playing and was so fortunate to get professional lessons free from King Van Nostrand. He was my algebra teacher at Bay Shore, H.S. on Long Island during the 70's.
I've played at a high level for us hackers in USTA tournaments all over Texas. Today I'm still at it. The youngsters do not care that I'm 74 years old. If you're on the court, they are trying to rip a hole in your arse. I hold my own and still have fun, especially when I win!!!
PLAY TENNIS STAY IN SHAPE!!
Here's living proof what tennis can do for you.
