September got its name from the Latin word septem, meaning "seven," because it was the seventh month in the early Roman calendar before January and February were added.
September colors bridge the gap between summer brightness and the rich, cozy tones of early autumn.. These colors include Sapphire Blue, Warm Browns & Mocha, Deep Reds & Burgundy, Olive & Forest Greens, and Golden Yellows & Orange,
Every year I trek to New York for the US Open. Spend one week there at the Open and of course visit family and friends. This year was fabulous and my niece Bonnie still makes the best grub in town. I then spend the next week in Cleveland, Ohio with my Aunt Bambi, 95 years young, still driving, and that should tell you how's she's doing. Check out more about this trek in this month's edition.
I'm going to redesign our family RECIPE PAGE as it has needed a long time update. Actually as people get older they tend to eat out more than they cook at home, with the exception of our very own Bonnie, who still cooks more and the taste is always getting better. Therefore the new design of that page will showcase some of the nice restaurants we go to and believe you me there are plenty. The Family Recipe page will be renamed "Good Eats Out". Everybody has a favorite restaurant (s) they love. I will be asking you to chime in with some of your favorites. I start this month off with some of mine that I tried on this recent trip to New York and Cleveland. I'm hungry just thinking about them now!
Enjoy! Stay Blessed!
James Kevin McLaurin
P.S. We are getting so close to November 3. The GOP is in panic mode. Don't go for the OKIE DOKE. Trump is in high gear with lies trying to steal the MID-TERM ELECTIONS. Remember Spike Lee's "DO THE RIGHT THING" and get to the polls at all cost. Take everyone you know with you! Trump says make believe his name is on the ballot. I say make believe BARACK OBAMA'S name is on the ballot!

If you said "Joie Lee", sister of Spike Lee, who played his sister " Jade", in "Do The Right Thing" in 1989 made many films directed by her brother. She has appeared in many of the films directed by her brother, Spike Lee, including She's Gotta Have It (1986), School Daze (1988), Do the Right Thing (1989), and Mo' Better Blues (1990). She also co-wrote and produced the film Crooklyn (1994).[2] A movie without her brother's involvement she appears in is A Kiss Before Dying (1991).

My Niece Yvonne (Bonnie) Powell-Adimola, her husband Lord, her son Ryan Fitzroy, and I ate at this fabulous new all-you-can-eat seafood buffet. It is located in Co-Op city in the Bronx, NY. For $39.00, you can have up to four lobster tails, and all the seafood and everything else you can imagine.
The amazing thing about this buffet certainly is the price, but the quality and the amazing taste of everything was the headliner.
It's a Chinese own restaurant and these folks can cook. You can check it out on our new "Good Eats Out" page in this month's issue.

Lord, Bonnie, and Ryan at Kajin Seafood in CO-OP City, the Bronx. We just left Kajin Seafood.

Ryan, James, and Lord at Kajin Seafood at CO-OP City in the Bronx, New York. Weeza vey ful of the good food here!

Shamara, Vickie, and I are at the Terrace Diner in Babylon, NY for dinner. Diners on Long Island are always very good. This was a Greek own diner and we all had a Gyro. It was enormous and the real McCoy. I'm going back there next trip in New York.
This is Vickie shown here in the picture.

Bonnie and her husband Lord and I are at Lord's family member's African wedding. We are all dressed in African attire for the wedding. We didn't know that we would be attending the Sunday Church services before the wedding. The church was Pentecostal and the service went well. The wedding took place after the church services.

Here I am wearing my African attire for the wedding standing outside near the new couple's ride when they depart the church.

Muhammad one of my tennis buddies from Houston in on his way to his first US Open. We played four times a week this summer and both he and I got in the best shape we've been in for many years.
This was his first time ever riding a mass transit train. He was excited about the whole experience. He hails from the country Guyana in South America and has been in the U.S. for many years. We both have the same views about DJT.
