May, the fifth month of the year, represents a pivotal transition of growth, fertility, and renewal, marking the height of spring in the Northern Hemisphere (and autumn in the Southern). Named after the Greek goddess Maia, it symbolizes the blossoming of nature, warmth, and new beginnings. It is often associated with themes of luck, abundance, and the joy of warmer weather
I was born on Long Island to the parents of John W McLaurin Jr. and Elizabeth M Sydnor McLaurin in the hamlet of Bay Shore, Long Island, N.Y. in 1952. My dad, a single parent, was lost early in my life due to a drunk driver. His brothers and sisters took care of me, my twin brother John and sister Karen until my mother returned. My aunts and uncles taught all their nieces and nephews the value of an education and to this day I thank them dearly.
Although sports occupied most of my time growing up as a boy, and having family members who loved them too, I was blessed to obtain a full four-year scholarship to attend college and learn more things about life and myself.
Having obtained computer skills at an advance level, it was very easy for me to take those skills and give back something to my family in the form of this FAMILY WEBSITE.

This month Dora M (Bambi) McLaurin will turn 95. What a blessing to all that have had the pleasure to be in her company. There is so much history in her years that many of us do not know. Listed below are some things you may or may not know about this extraordinary human being.
Look at the Porgy's eye. His last sight was "Bambi" stringing him up!

Sunday, April 26, 2026, I was walking into the homeplate entrance at Daikin Stadium in Houston, Texas when the above news article showed up on my phone. It stopped me in my tracks for a moment. I put it away and continued to my seat in the stadium. We were early, so festivities before the game were still in progress and we were there to see 6'7'" allstar Aaron Judge and the MLB American East league leading Yankees. The Yankees beat the Astros Friday and Saturday nights to gain a 2-0 series lead.
So I took some time to just see who had sent me this memory. It was sent to me by Stan Wondoloski who graduated from Bay Shore High School in 1969. If memory serves, he was a senior on the varsity boys basketball team, my sophomore year that I not only became the first boy to make the varsity squad as a sophomore, but the first sophomore to start on the team. I remember it took a lot of time for many of the seniors to get used to that idea, but my talent was what it was, so they just had to get used to the idea.
We played Southampton the next game and were taken out by Clarence Walker's cousins. I only had 12 point that night. They were all over me and we did not have an answer to their full court pressure.
Of course I sent Stan a message thanking him for the memory.
I remember most things that happened in that game. Everything I threw up went in, even a shot off the glass from the top of the key.
However, most of the statements the reporter said that I said were not said by me. I have always been very shy with remarks about my play, even to this day when I make good shots on the tennis court.
The lay up that he said I missed, I remembered. I was flat out tired and couldn't jump.
Bottom line, it's all good because this article took me way back in time to the best performance I have ever had as a high school athlete which earned me a full four year scholarship to college.
Thank you Stan, and most of all thank you Jesus for giving me that moment.
In this video I show you some of the brightest views you will find traveling across West Africa. Accra, the capital city of Ghana, stands out as a one of the brightest cities in Africa.
Light holds profound cultural significance in Ghanaian society. Beyond its practical utility, In many Ghanaian traditions, gatherings and celebrations are often accompanied by the illumination of lights, creating a festive and inviting atmosphere.
Whether it's during festivals, weddings, or religious ceremonies, the presence of light is central to the cultural fabric of Ghana.

If anyone deserves a vacation, these two certainly do.
These two family members left Long Island a few days ago and will be spending a month on the African continent in Ghana. Lord's family are natural citizens of Ghana, so they will spend some time with them. They are currently in the process of building their vacation home next door to Lord's step-mother's home.
We wish them safe travels and a happy fun filled well deserved vacation.

Of course I reminded Bonnie to check out the inspector!

The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution (1791) guarantees five fundamental freedoms: religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition. It prohibits government establishment of religion (Establishment Clause) and protects religious exercise (Free Exercise Clause), while securing freedom of expression against government restriction. Key limitations include speech that causes direct harm, such as obscenity, defamation, fighting words, and true threats.
Key Freedoms Guaranteed:
Speech: Protects individual expression, including symbolic acts and written words, generally forbidding government censorship.
As of May 2026, Jimmy Kimmel has continued to draw the ire of President Donald Trump by delivering sharp, often personal monologues, including jokes about the President's age, physical appearance, and family, which have prompted intense backlash and calls for his termination.Key actions by Kimmel that have particularly angered Donald Trump include:
In April 2026, Kimmel joked that First Lady Melania Trump had "a glow like an expectant widow," which he described as a "light roast" regarding the 23-year age gap between the couple. Trump called this a "despicable call to violence" and demanded ABC fire Kimmel.
Kimmel has mocked Trump's health, health rumors, and physical appearance, including making jokes about his "big fat elephant ankles" and describing him as a "pumpkin left in a hatchback"
Kimmel has frequently highlighted and poked fun at Donald Trump's social media posts on Truth Social, including an instance where he mocked a photo Trump shared of his wife, Melania.
Kimmel often jokes about the popularity of Trump's events and the ratings of his television appearances, directly challenging the President’s own narratives about his popularity.
Kimmel has compared Trump's negotiation skills to a "short," "bad" sexual experience.
Kimmel has largely refused to apologize for his jokes, framing them as free speech and arguing that Trump "can't take a joke"
People our source of information these days are very flawed and untrustworthy. The news you choose or the social media you follow comes from men and women, not GOD. Therefore it is flawed. With the case of poitics in America today, your best bet may be you taking the time to watch the politicians in our political system you voted for LIVE, at the congressional hearings that are open for you to view live when they happen. Our country is a mess because voters have no clue what actually goes on in Washington.
Check out our "oversight hearings" page here,
