Grace is one of the original sisters of the McLaurin migration from Savannah, Georgia to New York in the 1940's. Her sisters named an African Violet plant after her which is still surviving after sixty years in some of her family members homes today. That being said, you know what she meant to our family.

Gracie is the 60 year old plus plant mentioned above. Grace Day's sisters Carrie and Bambi continue to keep this plant alive after the death of their sister. Besides residing at Bambi's in Cleveland, Ohio, it also resides in Houston, Texas in Gracie's nephew James' home and a friend of his too. Long Live Grace Day!

Dorothy the mother of three sets of twins in the same house in Philadelphia, PA was a remarkable woman. I want to thank her daughter Marilyn for sending in photos of her mother. My favorite aunt on my Sydnor side!

Bambi is our oldest surviving McLaurin to date. This year she will be 95 years old. Still driving around her neighborhood and to church on Sundays, she admits she's slowing down, but still loves the idea she's still on top!
