Before we get started, I want to make one thing clear: This isn’t about football. If it were, I wouldn’t be writing this piece because former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders would’ve been drafted in the first round.
And that isn’t even debatable.
But this isn’t about football. Because if it were, Sanders, 23, would’ve been recognized as not only one of the best quarterbacks in college football this year, but as one of the best to ever do it in the history of the game.
What the NFL did to this kid is absolutely wrong and racist. How can one of the best college players in our land with receipts for his body of work not be drafted in the early rounds of the draft.
“He is just the second QB in history with 14,000-plus yards while completing 70-plus percent of his passes. Of QBs with 13,000-plus passing yards, he is 1 of 8 in history to have 100 more touchdowns than interceptions in his career. Sanders finished with a 156.01 career quarterback rating in college,” Yahoo Sports reports. He’s also thrown a touchdown pass in 49 straight games, and that’s the longest streak in NCAA history.
Shannon Sharpe is in the headlines, and this time it’s not because of his booming laugh or sports takes on ‘Club Shay Shay.’
Randy Moss is recovering from bile duct cancer and has undergone a Whipple procedure. He has been working to get back to his broadcast role and has shared updates on his progress, including his recent virtual appearance at the NFL Honors. He has expressed gratitude for the support he's received from his family, friends, and the NFL community.
It is no coincidence that since taking office on Martin Luther King Day, the Trump administration’s most aggressive actions have targeted historically marginalized groups. In fact, the many blatantly illegal, unconstitutional, and bizarre actions we saw during the first month of Trump 2.0 — during which we also observed National Black History Month — are specifically harmful to Black Americans. Attempts by Trump to freeze federal funding, close federal agencies, curb the rights of workers, and dismiss federal workers, through illegal means and by Republicans using budget reconciliation to cut federal funding for Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, food assistance, and public education, continue a shameful tradition in American history of systematically dehumanizing, disenfranchising, and stealing from Black Americans.
Why are Trump and his allies doing this? To further consolidate their wealth and might by dividing our collective power. This carefully planned spectacle is designed to shock, overwhelm, and divert our attention away from the extreme greed of the wealthy and powerful few, who are attempting to loot the banking and payment systems that fund public spending with our tax dollars.
Michelle Obama is finally speaking out about one of the most talked-about moments of her post–White House life: why she chose not to attend Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration.
In a candid conversation on the latest episode of her podcast Michelle Obama: The Light Podcast — co-hosted by her brother Craig Robinson — the former First Lady said that although the decision wasn’t easy, it was necessary for her own well-being. During a discussion with actress Taraji P. Henson, Michelle explained that skipping the event was a personal boundary, not a political stunt. Click here to read more
Smoke alarms are designed to emit loud, piercing sounds to alert individuals in case of fire, a function primarily tied to individual hearing capabilities rather than race or ethnicity. However, broader social and economic factors can influence fire safety in different communities, including Black American communities.
Watch what happens when white people hear smoke alarm, and the see what black do when they hear the smoke alarm. Funny but not funny!
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Convicted felon Donald Trump preceded ‘Juneteenth’ with his own ‘Trumpteenth’ event last Saturday June 15, at a Detroit Black church with mostly White MAGA Trump supporters in attendance. Trump has claimed his mug shot, 4 indictments and now 34 felony convictions make him more appealing to Black voters. Trump followed his church visit with a keynote speech at the ‘Turning Point USA Peoples Convention’, whose founder, Charlie Kirk has called the Civil Rights Act a “Mistake.” So it’s not hard to imagine what he thinks of abolition, emancipation and Juneteenth.
Methinks Juneteenth is in trouble. People who voted for him have not shown up with enough b__ls to stop him. He's going to keep slamming it down our throats until then.
On March 11, about 50 judges gathered in Washington for the biannual meeting of the Judicial Conference, which oversees the administration of the federal courts. It was the first time the conference met since President Trump retook the White House.
In the midst of discussions of staffing levels and long-range planning, the judges’ conversations were focused, to an unusual degree, on rising threats against judges and their security, said several people who attended the gathering.
Behind closed doors at one session, Judge Richard J. Sullivan, the chairman of the conference’s Committee on Judicial Security, raised a scenario that weeks before would have sounded like dystopian fiction, according to three officials familiar with the remarks, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations: What if the White House were to withdraw the protections it provides to judges?
The 47th President of the United States of America is convicted on 34 counts and not one of these judges can put him in jail. Orange man needs orange suit and a hamburger and diet-coke to go!
